hello , im a current owner of 5 p38 in various states of repair. im thinking of upgrading to a newer range rover , i am looking for your advice on which engine is the best the 2.7 tdv6.. the tdv8 3.6.. or the4.4 tdv8 ..Any advice on any other troublesome issues would be greatly appreciated .. thank you.

Well you can rule out the 2.7 TDV6 version, because there isn’t one :). I assume you mean the 3.0 TD6 with the BMW M57 engine? It’s a good engine, but unfortunately mated with the infamous GM 5L40-E transmission. I would rule it out purely because of the transmission, which it appears was made from a mixture of soft cheese and chocolate.

I suggest that you put your location in your signature to let us know where in the world you are, as availability of L322 models was very territorial. This forum is predominantly American and the diesel models weren’t sold in the US.
