let's say i'm getting an '06 with 45k miles. would i be better off getting a cpo from a dealer or getting a nice find off another lot and purchasing a good aftermarket rover warrantee (one of the specialty ones recc by rr.net)? opinions? TIA.

Price independent? CPO of course............

But in the real world, CPO trucks are $3-5K more than their "used car lot" counterparts.

IMHO, the few thousand saved by picking up a bargain at a used car lot is quickly used up by a) buying an aftermarket warranty and b) paying for crap not covered by said warranty. Buy certified, the chances of getting a junk car are greatly reduced.

agreed with above.....CPO will cost 3K-5K more and if you find a great 2006, most of the time they will have a balance on the warranty of about 1 year. At the end of the warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 3K-4K.

Definitely get a certified or at least a car that is on a Land Rover lot. You will be kicking yourself otherwise
