Hi,

Some may say it doesn't exist on the Clarion only on the Alpine but since i experimented the Alpine Steering wheel control linked to the Clarion it can show mute when pressing the (-) button.

So i guess there's an input somewhere behind this headunit.

Who knows?

Yep, it exists. However, the plug doesn't have a pin to connect to the radio mute input. I got a pin from another plug and fitted it to mine ('95 model). Then I connected it to my mobile phone hands-free car kit.

Now when the phone rings, the radio mutes and shows TEL on the screen.

It is pin 1 (the unused one) on the grey plug. I'm sure I mentioned it years ago on this forum.

Ahh, here we are: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12421&hilit=mute&start=15

Nice  . I'll connect that at the next removal of the radio. Too much work for today
