I have a 2002 Ranger Rover HSE...
I have a serious question about the Wheels.

It is my understanding a Difference between the HSE vs the SE Ranger rover is the HSE is 18 inch wheels and SE has 16 inch wheels. The body seems to be the same.

My question is will the SE wheels (16 inch) FIT onto my HSE??

Im looking to buy an extra set of wheels for a winter driving set. My neighbor has a SE Range Rover 2001.. Looks like the same car as my 2002 HSE but only his wheels are smaller.

Will his STOCK wheels fit on mine if I buy them?

They will only fit if you use the search function.

As long as you find a wheel with the correct weight rating and studpattern it will fit.
BMW X5 wheels fit, for example.
What can make the difference between physically fitting the vehicle or not, is the
combination of wheel and tyre size.
You could fit 20" wheels if you want.

...to look like a drug dealer
...to turn an extremely capable off-road vehicle in to a shopping trolley, and an appropriate target for "greenies" trying to rid the planet of oversized and under-utilised vehicles.

had me rant... now back to the topic...
To keep your vehicle within stock specs, overall tyre diameter should be no greater than 29".
16" wheels are good for larger profile tyres (e.g. M/T and snow)
18" wheels look ok for highway tyres

I run both size wheels on my P38A (not at the same time), depending on my mood and the conditions.
18" HSE road wheels with Cooper H/T plus 265/60R18 tyres

16" wheels with Maxxis Bighorn 255/85R16 tyres

As far as I know, all P38A models run the same stud pattern and pitch centre diameter (PCD) so all factory wheel size and styles all inter-changeable between models.

Cheers, Paul.

Paul, what's the rear wheel carrier you have? And why?

The rear bar and carrier is a custom job from 4x4 Intelligence in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia) who did a limited run of these mid last year.

The "why" is because tyres with an outside diameter larger than the stock 29" won't fit in the spare wheel well in the boot... and both my on-road and off-road tyres are larger than stock. I like my boot space to be useable and I'm too lazy/weak to lift wheels to/from the roof racks... plus the car wouldn't fit under my garage door

Here is a more recent photo of the carrier, and since I've changed over the clear lenses for smoked ones

Cheers, Paul.
