that is most likely the TPMS receiver for your spare. Since the spare doesn't move around there would be no need for any cover

patpat, it is accelerometer sensor,it works with DSC (dynamic stability control).

PATPAT it would be helpful if you will add your truck into your signature.
To do that at the top right click on settings,
then find edit signature then add your year model and any other options, thanks
