What's the most basic tool for reading/clearing codes for a P38?

I've read about all the full function setups available, and the most basic generic code readers, but can anyone suggest the most basic reader that will also clear codes? I have a OBDII interface module with a serial cable that I used with VAG-COM on my Audi, so if there is any software that I could use that would utilize the cable I have, that would be the best case scenario. I don't need air bag or EAS functionality, just engine management code clearing....:?:

Most any OBDII system will read and clear the engine codes. For quite awhile I used an Innova 3100 series for engine codes here at the shop and was very pleased with it. I picked mine up on sale at Schuck's for under $90. They are about $160 now for the latest 3130 model if you shop around.

I looked at the Innova 3100, but is doesn't mention anything about being able to clear the fault codes. Are you aware if that model will, or is that only available in higher level models?
