hey all curious to know what OCI's yall are running/recommend for the dealer Castrol Edge Professional EC 0W20?
I don't know exactly when the truck would have told me to do it based on a mileage example because I just passed the 1st year of ownership and at that point I was at about 6500 miles. I was busy for a bit so couldn't get it into the shop until 7000 miles but this is my first OCI!

I probably only had like 1500 miles on highway, remaining 5500 was all city

Just curious what OCI you guys are running disregarding the 'once a year timeline'

thanks!

Theres a bit of a mix of miles and KMs in this thread. are you suggesting oil changes every 5000Kms or Miles? 5000 miles is 8000 Kms.

thanks! great thread and good to know this as I think I'm taking ownership of a 2019 this week or next.
most people here probably american so thats why its mixed,
i did research and depends on your driving conditions
if its all city driving then 8000 KMS max
if its mixed then 10,000 Kms easily
If mostly highway then you prob can do a tad more but i think 10k is safe

I have a 10 Quart Sump from Amazon... and the Oil Filter Wrench-Head from the same... I think I spill maybe 2-3 drops of oil now changing oil with this method... It's awesome!

When you refill the sump make sure you only add/re-add 7.0 to 7.25 Quarts of oil instead of pumping 8 quarts into the oil sump right away... Then you can add over the next day or two a quarter quart at a time to make full-sump without getting the dreaded "Over-Filled" warning on your dash. Level Ground is the key to changing oil, draining oil, refilling, and checking the oil level...
is that bottom method only when u use extractor? cuz i had a shop do the oil change from drain plug few days ago and i bet they filled it to 8.5 ish right away

thx
