Chaps,

I get in my car, turn the ignition one click and two things have started to happen:

a) an extremely feint house alarm emanates from the drivers side speaker
b) a high pitched sound accompanied by whirring and clicking emanates from the engine bay - I can't establish exactly where in the engine bay.

See video - would love your input

The second noise, under the hood, is completely normal, unplug the throttle body if you want it to go away.

The noise from the speakers is not.
What year is the vehicle(better question would be is it touchscreen nav, as I can see it is a M62)?
Do you have any aftermarket audio installed?
Does this happen with the audio system both on and off?

The noise sounds like a 'aux in' feed that is not hooked up to anything, and backfeeding itself.

Thank you. It's good to know the engine noise is normal. Since the two noises aren't linked I think I know what has happened. I removed the door card to fix a snapped door handle cable yesterday and i have possibly got the cables to the speaker wrong round. When you said aux in feed you made me realise i may have a mistake re attaching the wires.Again, thanks for taking the time to have a look and respond...much appreciated, Sir

Sounds like a simple fix.

Also, for future readers of this, don't unplug the throttle body!
