In the process on taking out the dash to get to the faulty blower motor in the heater box, I had a question. What is this black tube attached to the back of my speedometer?

Thanks as always.

I’m happy to report the blower motor and matrix replacement went just fine. It as hard as I expected and the kit from British Atlantic was just what I needed.

I can't remember if it is a resistor or a potentiometer for one of the gauges, I think it is linked to temp gauge.
