I purchased 2004 RR about a year ago, there has been a switch on the dash that has concerned me for a while. I have been told that it is a radar detector yet I am unsure. If I turn the switch one way it lights up yellow and a alight by the dash vents blinks red, turnign the other way, it lights up orange and the light by the vents again blinks red. Ocaasionaly when I turn the switch on, it will make a sound , similiar to turning a radr detector on.

Hoping someone may have seen a similiar install and can confirm the manufacturer of such a device, yes the actual button is missing.

It's the switch to your K40 Radar detector. I have the same model with 2 remotes and one laser defuser except my switch is hidden in the cubby hole and the leds are up by the sunroof switch. When you first turn them on all lights will flash and if you turn the inner switch it toggles between HWY(green led) to CITY(orange led). Your switch is missing a knob, which is to turn the unit on and adjust the volume.
