2010 hse totally loaded with wood steering wheel, entertainment, cameras, lux interior etc.. listed 89,000

trade my 06 HSE with roof rack, ladder, third seat, new vredestein tires has 31k miles. Its loaded with lux, entertainment system, nav radio. Like new, but I should add it has a very bad interior smell I can not get rid of with anything.

Dealer wants 54,000 out the door. This was his first offer. Said he has a promotion to come 3k off sticker if he sells it before the end of the year. They seem really motivated.

I really love my 06 and had planned to keep it but it smells like death.

What do you guys think of the deal?

Thanks

I've been following your smelly '06 dilema. It'd be nice to go for th '10. It's all about checks and balances, pros and cons, risks and rewards. Personally, I love to have a good excuse to upgrade vehicles. A rotten smelling vehicle fits that bill. Comforted by a bit of the 2010 sticker, and an '06 sold down the river and off your hands, it's a win-win. You'll have fresh leather in your nostrils instead of rotting carion, more power, and possibly some peace of mind. We're all waiting to see pictures of your new 2010!

Thus far about $3700 has not been able to get rid of the smell. Would love to stick with LR but really need a 7 seater and already have an LR3
What caused this smell?

I had a disco 1 which I left a gallon of milk in during the hottest week of summer... It exploded in the rear of the car and sat there for days on end.

When I opened the door the smell was so horrible it almost knocked me over. I just ripped up the rear carpet out, rinsed the back out, cleaned with vinegar, replaced the carpet and it was like new...

I believe it was the animals that came in trying to find the cause of the smell. My salesman told me he drove the car about 400 meters and could barely stand it. They ripped the car apart and only found some green goo in one of the vents.

You need someone competent doing the cleaning, there are chemicals that break down organics instantly... Was the dealer trying to find the source of the smell and remedy? Or did you hire a professional hazmat type cleaner?
