I have a 2018 evoque and ever since i got it, it randomly makes a weird rubbing noise when going into reverse. Doesn't happen all the time, but I am starting to realize it happens much more often if it has rained.
Here is a link to the video. Any suggestions what might be causing it? Has anyone had the same issue

After a lot of back and forth, the dealership finally agreed to replace the rear brakes under warranty on my sister's Evoque for the same noise while backing up. Fixed the problem. She finally escalated it to the service manager after two attempts to get the ornery service advisor to handle it. Totally unnecessary service experience for a premium brand. Should have been fixed on the first attempt. I knew it was the brakes when I heard it and told her to tell the advisor this. His useless response was "brake dust".

Hi. I am having the same problem with my Evoque which was brand new in October. The exact noise started two months ago. I’ve had many conversations with my local dealership in Birmingham. The excuses are too many to be repeated.
But hopefully I’ll will show them this website and get a better response.

I have this exact same problem - the noise definitely gets worse after rain or a high dew point. Mine is so loud it know wakes up the neighbours when I reverse out of my drive in the morning. I have taken mine into the dealership I bought the car from on at least 6 different occasions and each time they say its fixed - and it isn't. I was shown an email I don't think I should have been shown that talked about " educating the customers that this is expected noise due to the type of materials used " That they had had a high incidence of parts warranty claims and we ( the customers) were to be told nothing could be done. It wasn't their liability. I'm happy to share that with you. I think there is some kind of cover up going on here . I have to say service levels at Aylesbury Landrover have been shocking. We have to literally drive in and wait in reception to speak to people as our calls are never returned. I will upload my video too so you can see how appealing it is.

I have had the exact same experience. The excuses are laughable. They know its a serious problem and I would say there is some kind of cover up going on here. I will upload the email I don't think I should have seen...

Please upload the email.
Within 1 week of buying my Evoque from Solihull LR, I heard the same noise, but didn't think much about it at the time, in week 2, I contacted LR and they booked it in. Ive contacted them on numerous occasions about the noise, its been in again and I've just had a long discussion with the manager who tells me it is a known 'condition' and not a fault and that I basically have to put up with. I would be grateful if you could share the email and also I'd be interested to know if you have had the issue resolved now and if so how? Many thanks
