What causes small amounts of washer fluid to drip out of nozzles onto the hood without activating washers? There is a vent in the washer fluid tank cap, first thought was expansion but since there is a vent...

My first guess would be a bit of a vacuum... i find it on mine after I've used the washers, a bit comes out after they've stopped spraying - especially at speed.

There are non-return valves in the system between the pump and the jets, but my best guess is that if you're driving and spray the windscreen - after the pump stops, there's a bit of fluid left at the jet end, which as the air is flowing over the bonnet whilst driving it almost sucks the fluid after the valve out of the nozzle.

If it still does it when parked - then I'm at a loss... I'll have to look at mine again at some point. I've only noticed it when i'm driving, and then see the dribble down the bonnet!
