I placed an order for my first RR (2019 model) and pretty excited. I do have some concerns about needed warranty work or roadside assistance should (when??) something goes wrong. I live in Chicagoland but have other houses in N Idaho and Arizona so will be doing some travelling. I did a dealer lookup for states which I typically drive through with the following results:

Idaho dealers: 1 in Boise
Iowa: 1 in Des Moines
S. Dakota: 0
Montana: 0
Wyoming: 0

When driving to Idaho, for example, once I leave Chicago, I am SOL basically all the way to Idaho (2K miles), and even then, the closest dealer is in Spokane, WA. My question is whether others have had to deal with the issue of getting warranty or more importantly emergency services where there are no dealers for many miles. I called the Land Rover help line and they were not of much help. Any sharing of experiences appreciated.

If something is going to go wrong on these cars, it’s likely to happen in the first few hundred or 1k miles. And any glitches are likely to be SW related, so long as you make sure that dealer puts the latest SW updates on before you pick her up, You are unlikely to have any problems that would require a specialist along the way. I’ve driven a new 2015 RR HSE across the entire country twice and we frequently drive from Austin to Santa Fe / Taos and have never had an issue requiring a dealer.

If you ever need to rely on roadside assistance, this will be Land Rover's problem, and not yours. They will have to fulfill the contract and I'm pretty sure they will.

I agree that they will do something. Just curious if anyone has ever been in a difficult position such as this and what they did. Again, I did call them to get input on the "what if" but they were not very specific. With so many big gaps in dealers, there have to be situations where help is needed. Anyway, just looking forward to getting the new ride. Latest info is that it is in production with "at dealer" tentative date of 21 September.
