If it is obvious the damage is due to a manufacturing defect, any dealer installed accessory included with a new or CPO car should be covered by the same factory warranty as the car itself, so yeah I think your warranty should pay for that repair or replacement. Even if it was accidentally kicked, it shouldn't split like that.
