I'd like to see if retarding or advancing timing affects performance. Since I drive my rover once a month it would take me a while to check it out.

I'd like 2 volunteers, one plus 5or 6 degrees, the other retard 5or6 degrees, and let me know what you find.

if you advance it, keep your ears open for pinging, dont blow your engine on my account

some engines LOVE more advance, my old oldsmobile ran at almost 18 degrees initial, was very happy running that way

Would help ya out but didn't have enough time before the cold weather to finish painting/rust repair. Truck is in a hundred pieces waiting for better weather to assemble/paint :(

I have been pondering this timing question alot as well. I want to try to adjust the timing so that my RR will run better on 87/89oct. I dont have a timing light yet though. I'll be gettin on it soon.
