Do these tunes work on 2018+ models? Have a 2019 V8 SC.
Yes they do work on the 2019 cars. The 2017-on Range Rovers work on the Flexray gateway which requires us to send you a CMD Flash loaner tool. This runs off a PC Laptop. It does what is called a 'virtual read' which means it doesn't actually read the ECU, it identifies the software version and then downloads a matching version off the CMD Flash server. As long as your file version is available on the server it will work.

Hi Stuart - I have a 2018 RR V8 Autobiography thinking of getting the 5.0SC Crank Pulley + ECU Tune.

I Live in San Francisco Bay Area do you have any recommendation for an installer?

Talk to Robbie Allen at Peninsula European. Very familiar with Aston and Jag/RR Platforms.

Stuart - are the paddles compatible with the LR steering wheels? The links say its just for Jag but are they the same? And how difficult is it to pop off the old and add the new? Some electronic connectors? Thx,Will

Hi Will,

I was told by someone in the know that all the paddles from basically 2014-onwards are the same in all the JLR product. I don't know specifically which vehicles they have all been fitted to so far because we just send them out, although I know FType, XE and XJ have all been done.

They should work on the RR & RRS.

There's a pretty comprehensive thread going here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/paddle-shifter-extensions-larger-paddles-jaguar-ftype-199969/page7/

Hi Stuart,

Sorry I got a bunch of newbie questions since I have never done an ECU tune before on any vehicle.

I am assuming the tune will void factory warranty? Is this tune reversible and detectable by a dealer once it is reversed? Would I be able to easily do this tune myself with whatever tools and instructions you ship me?

Thank you!

JC

Hi JC,

I can't give you a definitive answer on the entire warranty. Certainly I would say it's going to void your warranty on the drivetrain. Unrelated components - say your window regulator goes, I would be surprised if you were not able to get that repaired.

The tuning process is pretty simple, you'll need a PC Laptop and an internet connection.

While it's possible to make it less detectable, you should always enter into any tuning with the understanding that if push comes to shove anything software wise is ultimately detectable.
