Hi All
i am hoping someone can please point me in the right direction if you have experienced any of these issue, sorry for it being long but want to provide as much info as possible,
picked up a brand new RR Sport dynamic HSE, TDV6 2 weeks ago. after 2 days of having it, i noticed the lower touch panel would not respond, i could not turn dynamic mode from the screen or any other function, pressing the buttons would light up and flicker but not actually engage, using the rotating wheel i could go into different modes, at this time i pulled over, turned car off and back on, same thing still happened, parked the car and when i returned 2 hours later all was ok.
following morning, i drive the car and get a message advising me autonomous emergency breaking is disabled on my screen, drive carefully
once again i left the car for several hours and all ok
next i realized that kicking near the back wheel to open cargo door is not working correctly, when the door did open and i pressed the button on the door to close the door it would not close, i had to bring my key right to the door to close the door, key was in my pants pocket.

Next issue i see is that sometimes when i put the car into park the car just completely turns off, all display panels, dashboard screens all completely turn off, stereo turns off, engine turns off, in the dashboard all i can see is just the time and date.
went to the dealer and they performed a software update for the camera module in the front and also updated all software for the touch panels and reset the operation of the rear tailgate.

a couple of days later, car has turned off 2 times by putting the car into park, also on one occasion i just completed a phone call( bluetooth connection), my iphone went back to playing music , when i pressed the track forward on my steering wheel, the music stopped playing, nothing i did restored this to work, turning car off/on same thing, leaving it for the magical 2 hours all gone back to normal.

the dealer is now telling me that the car turning off is a feature of the car, something i find impossible to believe, firstly i am not able to replicate this everytime,
i would find it impossible to believe that a car can turn itself off. my previous RR Sport 2014 never has these sorts of issues, my previous AMG C63S also never did this.
Just to clarify this is not the engine start/stop kicking in.

Any help and experiences will be greatly appreciated
thank you in advance

Well as far as the car turning off while park is pressed, take note that if the vehicle has activated auto stop and you then put car in park and unbuckle your seat belt the car will shut down just as it will if you pull to a stop and leave the car in gear and then unbuckle your seat belt. This is a safety feature so you do try and exit the vehicle while the stop start function is active.

My advice to you is be patient and keep a track record of all the quirks happening because they will. most of the things happening with the dashboard and stereo can be fixed with software updates, they are very common to all of us.

The tailgate hands free is very finicky I often find myself kicking like a rockette to get it to open, the best way is not to kick but place your foot up under the well and then wait a second for it to register. If you kicked back and forth you are going to confuse the tailgate it will register multiple times open/close and not operate.

Be sure when first entering the car after start up to wait a full 30 seconds for the whole system to boot up before trying to select anything on the screens both radio and climate, it needs time to fully boot.

another not about autonomous emergency braking warning, if you turn off dynamic stability control it will turn off AEB .

Thank you for the reply
in relation to the car , it was turning off when seat belt is still on
i got in my car, put my seat belt on Disabled the engine start stop as I find it irritating , drove to the service station, put the car into park and the car turned itself off, my seat belt was still on, driver door closed.
i can see the logic in your statement about how the car should behave and if it did that way I would have no issues , but this is different.

in relation to my stereo, just this evening I got in the car, made a phone call, hung up, music started playing from my phone again via Bluetooth and as soon as I pressed next track it all did exactly as above,

got to to my destination, parked car, came back 30 minutes later, all ok, then next track and again same thing,
‘at this point I thought maybe I will unpair my phone and car, deleted Range Rover from iPhone completely, disconnected my phone from the car also via the disconnect button in the car disaply,
‘when I tried to, reconnect it will now not connect so will leave it a while and try again,

i have ave read of people having issues with the newer technology in this car and my understanding is that a lot of the new tech is lifted from the velar which has been around for a while, surely it is not a big ask for the manufacturer to release something that works.

i will keep at it, truthfully it is annoying having all these issues in a brand new car,
‘I am actually a bit annoyed as I was looking at the svr as I really wanted the power of the car, and the one I saw at the dealer had the old rotation knobs and I said no to it ?

reviving a month old thread here... and for what its worth, my car is just about 45 days old, and I too am having all of these same goofy quirks and issues myself. Slow response time between functions on the radio, a few times my lower screen hasn't booted up at all, then today, I got a jitter in the top screen that wouldn't go away. Shut car off, let it reset, still there. Shut off car, LOCKED it, opened it back up, jitter gone, weird. And yes, my car likes to shut itself off... a lot. I feel like Bill2019 is right, that it's some sort safeguard technology that is just nowhere close to perfected. I cannot duplicate it, to make it do it on command either. Although it DOES def have something to do with the seatbelt. and hey, does anyone want to talk about the goofy throttle delay? I SOOOOO want to love this car, as it's just soooo **** sexy. Fingers crossed software updates fix some of this/ any of this, but I am not optimistic.

Hi all
an update, having the car now for 8 weeks today, the car has been in for repairs 4 times, a total of 10 days and counting. i have had non stop issues with bluetooth, dynamic mode buttons not working, mood lighting not working in driver footwell, tailgate gesture not working multiple times to name a few of my issues, rear tailgate wing scratching roof ( 2 times). reverse camera issues etc, touch panels not responding etc
i have had all the latest software updates installed on each visit, parts replaced, tailgate aligned and i know accept that this car is a lemon, compared to the 2014 RRS i had this is very unreliable.
everytime the car goes in for one thing it is ok for a couple of days and then new faults or faults that were just fixed reappear.
i have also noticed the throttle delay but have not even bothered mentioning it, i did notice that with the latest software updates it is getting a bit better.
concerning thing is that so far i have been given 3 different cars from the dealer while my car is in for repairs on different occasions and 2 of them had some of the same issues.
I have concerns that AEB does not work but no way of proving this,
i have actually written to Land Rover today asking for a new vehicle or full refund. have to see what they said
while i want to get excited about the car, overall very disappointed in it and wish i had my Merc back.

Good luck. From experience, a letter will probably not get you anywhere close to a buyback. Refer to your owner manuals for the proper procedure to follow for your given area. As in the US, each state has different qualifications and procedures to qualify for a buy back. It is a tedious task that will demand some persistence to get accomplished. Ask for anything that you desire from LR in the process. You may be surprised from what your receive in the end.

Thank you for the information about the buyback
here in Australia we have very crappy laws to protect the consumers unfortunately.
i am hoping that I will get somewhere with Land Rover Australia with common sense or I will park my car at the dealership and warn off new buyers till this is sorted
the list of issues just goes on day by day, last week I had the door handle replaced as tHe car would not lock, tailgate aligned again as it is scratching my roof for a 2nd theme, got the car back from the panel shop and we saw a nice big scratch in the tailgate, back to panel shop yesterday, came back today and the lower Touch panel in the car just decided to completely die, 2 minutes after having the car back.
i have now sent the car back to the dealer and am driving the demo car,
‘the demo car feels right on every front, unlike my piece of junk.
while I really love the car I am over the unreliability of the car and have lost faith in this brand sadly.
