First off let me thank you for taking the time to read my post, my question is, is there any way to adjust the shift points on the transmission in my 87 Rover. The transmissions shifts so fast and at low speed its really hard to get taken off especially if your pulling out uphill. The transmission will downshift if I almost floor the gas but with the fuel mileage being what it is already I dont like to do that. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If your kickdown is adjusted too tight it will hold the shift higher in RPMs. If it is too slack it will shift at very low RPM. SHifting manually is not the answer unless you have physical damages inside the transmission.
