In resetting your Sunroof, you must open and close it both ways, sliding it back as well as tilting it.

If you have an owner's manual, the messages on the screen are covered there.

The original poster has a 2000 P38 and therefore one significant difference with the GEMs is the top view of the engine. On top of the BOSCH engine, there are two 1/4" cables that make a loop (U) from the right (as you are facing the front of the vehicle), routed across the engine, make a U-turn and are terminated at the throttle body. one of these cables is adjusted on the right (cruise control), the other is adjusted at the throttle body connection. If either or both are over tightened, the engine will rev. It will lurch if the brakes are not firmly pressed. When I replaced my head gasket, I had this problem. I would askl the mechanic who did your head gasket work to assure that the linkages have the proper tension.

It has to do with the high rpms. fMy theory is that he is having the same problem that I had after I completed my head gasket replacement. the cables were not p[roperly adjusted. Eventhough I had not changed them, for some reason, they were over-tightened. By adjusting them to the correct tension, idle returned to normal the over-reving was eliminated, and the car was not throttling while I was braking.

You're uninformed! There are adjustments on both the Throttle cable and the cruise control cable. I know tis is true on the Bosch/Thor because I made these changes and slved my problem.
