Hello all,
I'm in the middle of replacing timing chains and guides on an '04 full size. All the plastic part was entirely gone on the center guide but both side guides were intact. I'm now at the point where I'm installing the new parts in and putting everything back together but I'm not convinced that I have found all the plastic pieces. I have taken the lower dump off and found some there, the front of the engine after taking off the chain covers had little bits here and there, the oil pick up for the oil pump had some, there was none on the filter/filter housing. I even back washed the tubing to the filter and there was none there. I've peeked under the cams where the lifters are and there's none there. Where else should I look? I just feel that there should be more plastic pieces somewhere and I want to find them all before I put it back together. Thanks for any input.
