I have a 06 Range Rover HSE that has a knocking sound when I turn sharply back and forth and when I hit a bump. A mechanic said it look like the tie rods. Should they wear out by now? I have about 124k on the vehicle. One other thing, I never heard the noise until I got my brakes inspected a couple months ago. Could they have left something lose in there when inspecting the brakes that makes the knocking sound and it not be the tie rods? The sound, sounds like it is coming from the front drivers side near the wheel well. Thanks!

try exercising the suspension and driving the truck in the higher and lower settings,
it may distribute the grease in the joins
