Thinking of going retro with my range

A colleague and I have been discussing today blending the looks of early 70s and 80s range rovers with the benefits of the late classics.

I quite fancy fitting the early grille, bumpers, fitting rostyle wheels, bonnet side badges and taking off the spoiler, vogue badge, exterior trim off my 1993 classic

Has anyone done this and do you have any pictures of some retro upgrades?

The 93 interior would ruin the effect.
I think you should do it. I really like the look of the original RRs. I've tried to do as much as I can. I wish I could find some rostyle wheels.

Collection might be the deal-breaker though...

As longs as it's a hard dash i think you'll get away with it.

I like the idea.

For extra inspiration check out the books Range Rover the First Generation and Range Rover Gold Portfolio. Available cheaply from Amazon.
It's a hard dash and my cloth seats look similar to the mid eighties ones.

Saw this website and these early cars must look so cool driving around london.

Will rostyles need different nuts to my alloys?
Yes, the rostyles will need nuts for steel wheels.

You might wish to have a look at this flickrstream.

He's a contact of mine who really loves his early Classics. Sadly he's made a lot of pictures private after some internet abuse.
Looking though those photos of those cars made me want one even more.

I just cannot believe they have lasted so long! Mine is a 93, every time I reveal some new rust in the engine bay, in the door jambs or under neath I know its getting closer to the end! I will be gutted when it finally does. still a few years left I hope.

Thanks...I have always wanted to make a trip over...
Wondered where that Overfinch 110 had gone! Driven it a few times in the past.

He sold it a few years ago.

The idea is to waxoyl underneath. The paintwork on mine has disappeared long before any metal!

I'd spend the time welding it up if its solid enough to have an MOT...
I have got myself some rostyles! Need to source some nice chunky tyres to complete the look.

Will the vertical slot grille just swap straight on?
