Hi,

I had a question about the alpine radio in my 02 range rover and the telephone/mute function. I installed a parrot bluetooth kit and it works fine, essentially plug and play. When a call comes in, the system mutes and the call comes through the speakers. But my alpine unit does not display TEL. I know the wiring is correct (parrot mute wire goes to pin 1 which is the mute function). I realize this is a mnor issue - just cosmetic, but do I need to do anything to activate the TEL display? Is there something wrong with my unit? (I installed a similar parrot unit in my audi with a concert radio and it automatically displays "PHONE" when a call comes in - I did not need to do anything other than the basic wiring.) Thanks.

my parriot had three different wires for the mute try all three in turn onto the mute wire of the plug. one will work. can't remember which. display then says telephone. though very dissapointed with mine as it streams music very well from the phone(G1) but can't adjust call volume. Too loud and lots of interference too. Guess the parriot amp is over loading the HK systems amps. funny though streaming ok.
