So ... my tailgate cables snapped last weekend with two people sitting on it. They hopped as soon as the cables snapped, but I guess it still managed to warp the hinges in some way. Used to, when you pressed the button, the tailgate stayed in position and you had to then tug on it to open it. Now, even after I removed the old cables, when you press the button the gate sort of "pops" towards you a couple of inches as though there were tension on the gate. Same goes for closing it - it's not hard to shut, but there is definitely a little tension when shutting it. Any advice as to how to get these back in proper working order? I guessing bend them in some way, but I'm just not sure how to go about doing it.
