it sounds like a faulty diaphragm valve, not allowing the pressure to get out when this is required.
that leads the height sensors to report maintaining same height, ecu thinks there is a physical obstacle under the car and sends it to extended height.
it could be a clogged up exhaust silencer (from EAS) as well (very cheap)
I would try disconnecting the air line from the dryer (this bypasses the diaphragm valve & exhaust), if the car behaves normal, then it was the d. valve or silencer.
