I'll place money on the fact this engine simply doesn't want to live!! Camshaft replaced, everything back together, put the coolant in and there's a leak.

Finding the leak was pretty simple once i pressurised the system. Replace the O ring behind the alternator, find a few more hoses not quite right enough.

It's then i realise the valley gasket is leaking!! Surfaces looked good, everything torqued up!! How can it leak!? I'm so demotivated right now it's unreal.

I have oil 'appearing' between cylinders 6 and 4, that appears to be coming from the head/block join, but there is no oil passage anywhere near it...

Changed rocker gaskets, o rings on the cooler lines, the valley gasket and end seals... and yet it persists. So I'm right with you there re. demotivated with it! Will tear it apart again... some day.

My Discovery was leaking too at the valley, so when I put the engine of the Rangie together I applied some liquid gasket at the vally gasket, it did help.
