Hi,

I have a 2003 4.4 -- US version.

I have a strange hesitation that intermittently happens around 2000rpm in 5th gear -- only when going uphill. I almost feels like either (1) transmission is going out of gear for a brief moment or (2) the engine is misfiring. I don't get any SES lights or any other fault codes.

In all other driving conditions the truck is driving just fine. I am stumped. What could this be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

2000Rangie

Is it a vibration, or a loss of power?

Does it happen in manual mode as well as in normal D?

How many miles, and when was the list time the trans was serviced?

Hi,

I have approx 98k on the truck. I don't think the transmission has ever been serviced. There is no vibration -- it just feels like the car hesitates very quickly/ or goes out of gear and then engages again. Almost like a bump in the road...although the surface is even...

I have not yet tested if this happens in manual mode...will do that tonight...
