and i had some codes after the oil blow out- p0443 and p0021 not sure if they would be related but i had them reset and have not returned. is there somewhere that has what these code mean?
strange engine noise
getting a strange ticking whinnning noise from the top end of the engine. the noise is kind of hard to describe- kind a reminds me of a diesel engine tick. its very fast and doesnt increase when i hit the gas and still there when warm. does not sound like lifter ticking (totally different sound) could it be the oil separator on the back of the intake manifold?

Search for "bmw permanent knock". I have the same thing, could be VANOS. If it is, most people just leave it alone.
