Sticky Feel on Buttons

Hi! Does anyone know how to get the sticky feel that’s on the window buttons, steering wheel buttons, gear control knob, etc off without damaging the buttons? I have tried Windex and rubbing alcohol.

I bought the upgraded rotary gearshift knob from Land Rover. It's aluminum and I love it.
