Fellows,

I´ve just changed the oil and filter of the auto box. It was running ok before and now seems to be even smoother. No surprises here.

However, I decided to open the filter and take a lot at it and I found quite a bit of steel particles in it. The guy at the tranny shop said this was quite normal but I must say I was a bit surprised. I´ve attached some photos of the filter.

Is this really normal? Has anybody seen something like that?

No biggie. My P38 looked much worse than that! Every tranny I have changed filters on have had "gold dust" and shavings in the pan. Remember that the tranny is a wear item and some amount of shavings and dusting is always going to be there. No need to worry until you start seeing bug chunks! :lol:
