Hi!

Yesterday I was driving on the highway and suddenly a noise from the right side started. Seemed a blown tire but then the red battery light turned on in the dashboard... the car lost all its power, steering wheel, etc and I have to pull over.

After pressing the start stop button, nothing happened. Only the electrical part turned on - radio, lights, etc - but the engine won’t start. Nothing. Like it’s dead... had to be towed...

Any ideas mates? Alternator??

Thanks !!

Sounds to me like it’s lost oil pressure. Oil pump gone possibly?

Not really wanting to be Mr Doom and Gloom but when a diesel just dies like that on the highway it is often a broken crankshaft - so make sure your mechanic checks that out.

Yeah - I've heard that Crankshaft break is being an issue on turbo-diesels.
