I recently purchased a 2001 Range Rover and instantly fell in love....... I did have a pre-purchase inspection done and with the exception of some minor things it passed with flyer colors. However the other day I got in it and started it up and it sounded like water boiling. Usually when I turn on the heat. Thats the best way I can describe it...... anyone that could maybe shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated. THanks !

Water flows through the heater all the time. There is no valve. The heater controls just alter flaps to direct the air. Maybe something catching on a heater fan blade such as leaves?

My aircon used to make a sound like a pump cavitating when I first turned it on- a metallic sound not dissimilar to the sound of boiling water. I think it was probably overfilled with refrigerant when I had it recharged and some liquid passed through the compressor.. It has now disappeared.
