Hi, I just purchased a 2001 55k mile P38A today. I bought it knowing that it needed some work to be completed to get it to great shape. I owned and regularly worked on a 91 Classic SWB.

Both sideview mirrors seem to not be fully adjustable. Most likely the cables are slipping behind the mirror. I searched this forum but didn't find any how-to answers.

Does anyone know of the procedure to pull and repair the mirrors? I would like to avoid having to spend 300 bucks for parts and paint per side.

There are no cables. The motor is a semi direct sonnect to the mirror plate via an adapter. The movement is rather limited thus the multi position housing.

best bet would be do download RAVE as it will have pictures of the components aa well as wiring diagrams
