So, I just bought my 2011 RRS. 5.0L HSE.
The service required indicator comes on upon startup. But when I check the only indicator shows the oil is full. I don't know how old the oil is and there was no sticker in the windshield. Without a dipstick, how do I check the condition of the oil?

Use the dashboard computer.
What will be included in the "Service required" depends on the mileage. Oil change is an obvious must. Refer to owners manual.

I'm of the opinion that a 'just bought' Range Rover / Sport should be taken for a fluid service anyway, just to be safe; engine oil, gearbox fluid, differentials, etc.

Service required is usually the oil change reminder and whatever other service coincides with the mileage.
I agree with the change all the fluids ideology though.
