I'm trying to separate the motor from the bracket on the passenger side step on my car. I've looked at it from all angles, removed all bolts but cannot see how to separate the motor spindle off the bracket other than brute force. It still feels solid. It probably isn't helped by the corrosion.

I don't have the new brackets yet to see but it looks like interference fit.

Before I do this has anyone else done it and am I correct? The motor seems easily damaged.
