I picked up a used OEM set like in Woofster's post for $300. Bolted right up to existing holes with just some minor trimming of plastic needed. I'm 5'6" on a good day and really like having the step. I hear tall folks don't like them which is probably why you can find them used.

I just bought a pair from Ebay. Did I make a mistake of buying after market stuff? Will they fit on my 2013 HSE lux. I can't afford to pay $1100 for installation. Nor do I have time to install my self.

Recently installed running boards myself. Took whole day, but it turned out great. Saved $1,100 install fee

Which set of aftermarket ones did you buy? I'm picking up my 12 rrs tomorrow and I'd like to add some running boards for ease of getting in and out give the wife and kids.

Would also be interested to hear if others have had experience with aftermarket options.

I'm looking at these ones as an option.

I bought these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-13-Land-Range-Rover-Sport-Aluminum-Running-Boards-Pair-Set-OE-Factory-Style/160897174427?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35389%26meid%3Dcf918d0fb355462a8c0506d6d57e3122%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D171317332037

I had a local shop install them for me for $250. Not sure how long it took them to install cause I left the car there for the whole day.
So far they look pretty good and have been holding up. One thing to notice is that the side of the side bars get pretty dirty pretty quickly and tend to hold on to the oily dirt that comes out of the wheels.....kinda of a PIA to keep them clean.
