Does anyone know of a reliable place to get the heated windshield on my 2000 RR replaced? It is not cracked but very hard to see out when it is sunny. It looks like the glass has 1000 tiny chips in it. Any ideas?

You should update your profile so people know where you live.

I could recommend somebody in Aberdeen but that would be no use if you live in Timbuctoo.

Be a shame if a brick went thru' it, cos then you'd have to claim on your insurance for a new one.........

I don't think windscreen cover is standard issue in his neck of the woods.

I had added glass coverage to my P38 earlier this year. For us here in PA, you can add glass coverage as part of a sub-insurance package that is not full comprehensive but it covers "act of nature" type things like damage from hitting a deer and things like that.

So, my windscreen had a little chip, one slam of the door during a really cold morning and it went the whole way across the glass. Windscreen was replaced by Safelite Auto Glass under insurance. I believe the cost for the heated windscreen was around $650 to $750 (US), installation probably another $100.
