I used to be fairly active on this forum until I traded my 08 RRS/SC for a 2001 jaguar XJ8 (X308) due to an aged mother and dog, neither who could climb into the RR. The Jaguar now has 90,000 miles and my arthritic knees will no longer tolerate such a low car; moreover, the seating and angles of the gas and brake seem to aggrevate a bad back, problems I never had with any of my LR3s or the RRS.

Found a 13 Ranger Rover Sport HSE (Santorini Black) with 22, 970 miles at a local Maserati dealer (car was auctioned in Miami). Dealer wants $48,000.

Question: what are the issues I need to be concerned with if I pull the trigger and trade?

(if you glance at Goosey's Hall of Fame in the stickies, I was one of the purists railing against the 24" wheel guys!).

Cheers, Jim

Welcome back. 13 RRS are very well made. No issues with the head unit. More options checked. Make sure you have vision, sat radio, auto lightings. Other than that good price. I will not part with my 13 RRS hselux with 16000 miles though for that price.

Yep I actually have 2 RRS. My 2010 HSE has 111K and I gave it to my daughter. I plan on keeping my 13 since it still looks brand new.

Made the leap: $45k plus the Jag ($2500 trade). Car is like new; smells new.

Not sure I am pleased not having a dipstick. The service sensor says the oil level is at minimum, but also 'not available' so will dig deeper into the owners manual.

You have to wait about 10 minutes after turning the engine off to get a reading. Once 10-15 minutes has gone by, turn on the ignition without starting the engine (read: hit button with foot off brake) and check the level.

Roger that: oil level was full. Still, tracking a tick near # 1 intake valve and vibration noise near right rear door: otherwise, great ride. Two MAF sensors, two air filters, Geez!

The AJ133 utilizes a HPFP and the injection system is characteristically noisy.

Thanks for that information. I will keep an eye on it: still have a year of warranty . . .

Wonder why this forum doesn't have a "thanks" button like the Jaguar forum has(?)
