Reset Oil Life Counter - 2006 FFRR

Hey folks, I just had my local LR service center reset my oil life counter and it took them less than 2-3 minutes.
Was wondering if it was just a series of dash-button presses, or does it actually require plugging in a gizmo to do it?

I think the 2006 has to be reset by computer, it is "User Resettable" on the 2002-2005 BMW system.

You could also try a search, there is plenty of information on the subject.
