Any ideas what the resale value for my car might be? Considering other options:

2014.5 V8 Dynamic Package, with 10K miles, Tow package, Upgraded Stereo (850W). Excellent Condition...

Trez - different part of the US (East Coast vice West Coast) and different time (5months ago) but a change in my employment situation made me consider trading my 2014 RRS HSE (one year old at the time with just under 12k mileage) back to the Annapolis JLR dealer and they offered me what I paid for it, less $2k (and state taxes of course).

Luckily my situation improved and I have kept my RRS.

The best way to answer this is "it depends" , no I'm not a Lawyer lol.

But it depends on where in CA you live, whether or not you're trading in on another LR, or if not, whether you plan on buying another LR in the future?

Low 70s to mid 70s at best. Not good situation. These cars depreciate fast. You know how quickly things change now the lots are choke full of these cars and they are discounting poorly equipped new ones where a year ago you had to pay $10K premiums to get one. My previously designated SVR sat on the lot unsold into the 3rd week, if people don't mind all black interior as much as I do, I think that says a lot. I had thought it would be gone the next day after I declined to take it.

when I brought mine in for it's 1st year maintenance check. I had the sales guy ran a quote for me. I believe it was in the high $70k range. Around $78k/$79k. This was around Oct/Nov 2014. About year after I got my 2014.25.

I didn't have the upgraded sound. But everything else was checked. I think original retail was around high 80s. Maybe ~87-89k? don't remember.

No way. They drop 50% after 3 years, not 1.
About half what you paid for it I would think. Assuming things are the same over there as they are here, the maximum depreciation happens in the first year.

You guys are way off.
My 2010 HSE was purchased for $63k and sold for 40k four years later. So even after 4 years I wouldn't expect more than a 40% drop. Oh and I sold it to an independent used car dealer. The market for these cars in Newport Coast where I am is very hot still and there is still no local inventory that is unspoken for.

Nearly every new car I see here is either an RR, an RRS or a Tesla.
I wouldn't be surprised if I don't lose less than 10-15% off msrp. I'll keep you posted.

The L494's are still very rare here in NJ. My dealer only has RRSs that were ordered by customers, i.e. all are spoken-for. Online, I see used 2014's being sold by dealers for almost the same price as a new 2015.

I think you will lose less than 10% trading to a dealer. If you sell private, then I think you could be close to breaking even (w/o tax&title).

I dropped mine off this morning for TPMS issue and asked my sales guy. He said no less than 90% of MSRP. Could be as much as 95% depending on options and miles.

My 2012 still had great value at trade (and also NADA/KBB) as of March 2015.

It stickered at 63K...I paid 59K in Nov 2011, and had a trade value of 46K in March of 15.

I'll take that any day.
