Hi

I have a seam leak in my 1988 classic fuel tank, have found a good used tank, cheaper than fixing old one
The old tank has been removed, I have them side by side
The fuel pump is screwed down and seems simple to remove

Questions that I cannot seem to get answers for - in workshop manual nor on Google
How do I remove the level sender, can't figure out how it is attached
It seems to be a bayonet type thing on the new tank, just twist to remove and install?
Do I need new gaskets?
What can I use if I cannot get the correct gaskets
Silicon, Vaseline, gasket sealer?

It's a lock ring and gasket along with the sender. You can tap the lock ring off with a screw driver on the end of the tabs, can't remember which way but it should be pretty obvious. You can buy new gaskets from Rovers North that's what I did when I rebuilt mine, they have every part for the job I'm pretty sure. Also be sure that new used tank is squeaky clean before you install or else you will have fuel problems. Hope that helps.

Did that thanks, also used a tube of fuel resistant silicone gasket maker (bostik)
