After one or two requests I have decided to post a few pics of the removeable winch I have fitted to my p38.
It takes 12 mins to fit and 6 mins to remove.

Without the winch fitted:-

With the winch fitted using the OEM winch cover (STC7881). Winch hides away nice and discreet :-

The winch is a 10,000 lb Chinese Maxtra with the wire cable replaced with a Dyneema rope.
It just tucks under the A frame allowing the cover to fit without too many mods.

The winch is mounted on two sections of flat bar 2" wide x 3/4" thick. I had them milled so they are a push fit inside the box sections. They slot into a frame bolted to the chassis behind the bumper and secured with clevis pins/bolts.
Plug/socket designed for charging electric fork trucks. Rated at 450 amps.

The frame is secured with 4 x 12 mm bolts at the rear of the crush cans and 4 x 10 mm bolts at the bottom.

Control box (non-removable) is tucked away in front of the battery:-

Future project is to fit a another electrical socket at the rear to allow the winch to clamp onto the rear towball.

Sorry I don't have any engineering drawings. The design evolved step by step as I went along.
It was all trial and error. Cut /weld /file /drill /swear. Not necessarily in that order.

I love this setup. As unusual, a removable winch that looks OEM.
Congratulations
