Hi i need my rear quarter painting and would like to remove the rubber strip without breaking or damaging it ,Does anyone know how to remove and replace it ,before i start breaking things.Thanks

It just pops out. Use a plastic trim removal tool and start at the front (nearest the rear door opening). If you are lucky the plastic clips will stay attached to it but sometimes they come off and are a real pig to get back on. Soaking them in hot water to soften them up first helps.

Don't heat it. It's a plastic moulding with a steel strip inside it. The clips that fit into the sockets in the bodywork are attached to the steel strip so all heating it will do is soften the plastic so there is a danger that the plastic will come away from the steel strip. The parts manual shows a self tapping screw at the rear end but this is rarely fitted.
