Hi there,
Just recently purchased a 2010 RRS SC and the rear glass liftgate would not open. After tracing the wiring and finally finding a way to get the liftgate open manually, I found the cause. Under the exterior plastic trim at the bottom of the liftgate, removed by about 8 screws, the wiring for the liftgate switch and the license plate lighting is visible. In my case, significant salt corrosion has eaten away the terminals in the wiring connector that is about 6 inches from the switch. After cutting the wires and soldering them together, the liftgate now works perfectly.
Hope this helps someone.
