Hello All,

Last evening I was trying to remove my rear license plate on my 2008 RRS and I realized
that three of the four plate screws turn and turn and will not screw out.

I presume the screw brackets are plastic and I over-tightened them when I put on the plate.

What is the easiest way to get the screws out of the screw bracket?

Thank you.

This sounds like a job for a Bosch 7/8-Inch rotary hammer. :D

Did you try to pry under the screw head with a flat bladed screwdriver or paint scraper and turn the screw out at the same time, then once you get it out a little you can use pliers. Btw, mine are nylon screws.

You likely have to retap that anchor with a larger metal screw, and use the larger nylon screw on the reinstall.

Goosey, I haven't tried prying a flat head under the screw yet. I did try
putting a little friction on the screw by pulling the plate away from the body a bit.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try a flat head and if not, I'll having to tap it in the rear. `)

Same thing happened to me - I destroyed the plastic mount and had to buy another one from the dealer

15 bucks for a new bracket and screws... It's almost not worth the hassle.
