Range Rover P38 late 1999 4.6 LHD. Interior very poor, so took up offer of a mid-98 interior for exactly same model. Only problem encountered is that replacement front seats do not have side impact air bags in SRS system, so SRS fault lights up. I understand that the complete SRS may be inoperable until fault rectified? I understand that system needs to see a specific resistance on the circuit leading to each bag on start up check; so, a suitable rated resistor must be installed at the SRS plug leading to each seat. Questions: Is my approach correct? What is a suitable rating for these resistors? I am advised NOT to test resistance of the air bag with a multimeter or risk setting them off – correct? If not correct, what is the method of testing?
