Hi Boys and Girls,
I am about to attempt a replacement of the cam in my 1994 softdash rangey (it's got low but even compression across the board and 150k miles on the clock). RAVE says to do this i have to take the sump off so i have been looking at gasket kits.
As I have a suffix B engine i'm not sure if need the rubber sump gasket or the cork one. the manual says suffix B engines have 17 sump bolts not 16 that the cork ones have but the suppliers all tell me that "all classic range rovers use cork sump gaskets".
Does anybody have an idea which I need to order?
Cheers,
Terry.

I'd be interested to know too, my sump gasket is leaking oil (as are other parts of the engine!) so its on the list of 'to-do' jobs.
