I recently came upon a 1995 Range Rover County LWB, and first thing I thought about was all of those cool Broncos converted into convertibles. Was wondering if anyone knew if this had been done before, if there were any companies that specialized in it, or if it could even be done.. any information is helpful.. thanks

Google is a wonderful thing. You will find many pictures of convertible Rangies in both 2 door and four door models. THere are many posted here as well. They are especially found in the Arab countries. If you are wanting a conversion of your own, most any high end costom shop will be able to lend a hand. If you fill out your profile with a location someone here may have a local suggestion.

It is possible, of course. You can unbolt the aluminum roof from a classic, but it will be exceedingly difficult to make it work. Bronco's are designed with removable rear tops, whereas Range Rovers are most certainly not.

I have an '87 that had the roof chopped off before I bought it. They did a good job but it is now strictly convertible. I had a bikini top made for it but am trying to come up with a rag top to cover the front seats, I'd like to be able to drive it in the winter too.

in not gonna lie to you... i think that is the shiznit! whats it look like with the canvas top? i was thinking in the back of my mind what it would be like to have a rrc truck rather than suv... and you pulled it off. consider this... body work to hide the fact that it was a 4 door at one time... weld the doors and loose the handles and make a sick truck bed out of the back... then run a canvas top... pretty cool man...

here are some ones i found that i really like. makes me wanna try it on my Rover! i guess just a sound cage would help with the structure loss of the roof? i would probably make the cage follow the same line there is now, and build a fiberglass top to put on in the winter, with the same lift window in the back.

this is the type of cage i'd probably try and build.

I've been wanting to build a rat rod for some time, but when I saw your post on convertible rover I was inspired, lucky me I have a spare car to convert, but the real inspiration was seeing the new Jeep with removeable top, very cool looking. I also noticed some type of roll bar to reinforce wobbly sides, so thanks for those cool pics.
