Hiya guys, am completely new to p.38 life, I basically bought it yesterday.. got all the way home and the little pipe ontop of the Left hand side, (looking straight on at the 4.6 petrol engine head on in front of the car) has been broke, he had bodged it... it was fine until I got home.. few people are saying head gaske? I think rad as it was pissing out of that pipe at high revs, & water bottle as steam came through my instrument panel aswel.. any suggestions/answers? Many thanks HazzaH89

Replace the rad for a decent quality one (not a Britpart) as it's almost impossible to effectively repair. It's a bleed nipple to bleed off any air in the system back to the header tank. Steam coming from behind the dash is likely to be leaking heater core O rings, a common problem but once done will be good for another 15 years or so. Doubtful that it's anything serious, it got hot as it was losing coolant. As long as it didn't overheat it should be fine.
